Welcome to the home of Eastern Companion Dog Training, a professional dog & puppy training organisation specialising in real life training and the curing of behavioural problems located in Melbourne, Australia. 

Eastern Companion Dog Training was first established in 1997 by a group of experienced dog trainers. Our aim then and now is to provide the highest level of customer service possible to each and every customer, by training the dogs to the customer’s individual requirements in real life training and ensuring that we have the best, most up to date knowledge in the training of dogs and the curing of canine behavioural problems.  We pride ourselves on being able to help "all dogs" no matter type, gender or what behavioural problem they have.

At Eastern Companion Dog Training we believe in training for “Real Life Obedience”. Our focus is ensuring that the dog will behave correctly in "all situations", whether it be at home, on the street, or at the beach or park. To this end we offer three separate formats of training : Group Dog Training Classes, In Home dog training and Dog Boarding School.

A large part of “Real Life obedience” is that we train the dog to the individual requirements of the customer. A very large part of dog training today is the curing of behavioural problems and behaviour modification.  This is our true specialty at Eastern Companion Dog Training as we are constantly curing all of the common and many not so common behavioural problems including Dog Barking, Jumping up, Digging, through to aggression and anxiety based behavioural problems such as separation anxiety.  We have a huge amount of experience in this field and as our phone is always answered by a trainer you can get sound advice as to what to do with your dog straight away.

We have always sought to be in the forefront of development and advancement in the dog and puppy training industry. To this end we make sure that all our trainers are fully trained professionals with our basic instructors course entailing the training of at least 100 dogs, doing at least 100 hours of instruction at the training centre and 12 lectures of behaviour and learning principles. Further to this we have constantly sourced the most up to date information available including attending seminars from the world’s top experts in this field as well as reading studies conducted in recent times. As well as keeping us at the forefront of development it has also enabled us to become one of the leading dog training groups in the field of canine behavioural problem solving. As we are currently one of the leading groups in this field we are called upon 7 days a week, 364 days a year to cure such problems thus giving us even greater experience on a daily basis.  So you can rest assured that we have experience with what ever problem you face with your dog.

We have also become a group highly sought after to run seminars on canine behaviour and dog training to many other dog training groups, animal rescue groups and societies including the Greyhound Adoption Program and The Blue Cross Animal Society. Further to this our head trainer has recently returned from lecturing and training dogs in the United States.  We have also had articles published in both national magazines and news papers, and as well as some of our work has been published in the United States.  As part of the Greyhound adoption program Eastern Companion Dog Training is working with the Prison Pet Partnership where the retired Greyhounds are fostered with prisoners in Dhurringile Prison for six weeks where they under go training to become loveling pets.  If you would like to read more on this please click on the link below to read our page on how the program works and how Eastern Companion Dog Training is involved in this program.
